* காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் தேர்தல் அறிக்கையில் உறுதியளித்தபடி, ‘தேசிய உணவு பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டம்’ என்ற புதிய சட்டத்தை மத்திய அரசு இயற்றும். இதன் மூலம், வறுமைக் கோட்டிற்கு கீழே வாழும் மக்களுக்கு, கிலோ மூன்று ரூபாய் விலையில் மாதம் 25 கிலோ அரிசி கிடைப்பது உறுதி செய்யப்படும். அத்துடன், பொது வினியோக முறையிலும் சீர்திருத்தங்கள் கொண்டு வரப்படும். இதன் மூலம் பயன்தாரர்களுக்கு புதிய கார்டு வழங்கப்படும்.
