தமிழகத்தில் நாளை நடக்கவுள்ள நாடாளுமன்றத்திற்கான தேர்தலில் மொத்தம் 4.16 கோடி வாக்காளர்கள் ஓட்டு போட உள்ளனர். 824 வேட்பாளர்கள் களத்தில் உள்ள நிலையில், 4,043 ஓட்டுச்சாவடிகள் மிகவும் பதட்டமானவை, 16 ஆயிரத்து 938 ஓட்டுச்சாவடிகள் பதட்டமானவை என்று தமிழக தலைமைத் தேர்தல் அதிகாரி நரேஷ் குப்தா தெரிவித்தார்.

சென்னையில் நேற்று நிருபர்களை சந்தித்த நரேஷ் குப்தா தமிழகத் தேர்தல் நிலவரம் குறித்து கூறுகையில்,

”நாடாளுமன்றத் தேர்தலுக்கு தமிழகத்தில் நாளை நடக்கவுள்ள ஓட்டுப் பதிவுக்காக, 52 ஆயிரத்து 175 ஓட்டுச் சாவடிகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மொத்த வாக் காளர்கள் 4.16 கோடி. இதில், 61 ஆயிரத்து 577 ராணுவத்தினரும் அடக்கம். புதிதாக பெயர் சேர்க்க அளிக்கப்பட்ட எட்டு லட்சம் விண்ணப்பங்களில், மூன்று லட்சம் பெயர்கள் ஏற்கப்பட்டு, பட்டியலில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. வேட்பாளர்களின் மனுக்கள் பரிசீலனைக்குப் பின், 39 தொகுதிகளிலும் 824 வேட்பாளர்கள் களத்தில் உள்ளனர். இதில், 26 தொகுதிகளில் வேட்பாளர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 16க்கு மேல் உள்ளதால், அவற்றில் இரண்டு அல்லது மூன்று ஓட்டுப்பதிவு இயந்திரங்கள் வைக்கப்பட உள்ளன. இதனால், ஓட்டுப்பதிவு இயந்திரங்களின் தேவை அதிகமானது.

மொத்தம் 30 ஆயிரம் இயந்திரங்கள் பற்றாக்குறை ஏற்பட்டது. இதனால், அசாம், ஒரிசா, குஜராத், மகாராஷ்டிரா, ஆந்திரா, கேரளா, கர்நாடகா, ம.பி., மாநிலங்களில் இருந்தும், பெங்களூரில் உள்ள பெல் நிறுவனத்தில் இருந்தும் இயந்திரங்கள் வரவழைக்கப்பட்டன. சில மாவட்டங்களில் கூடுதலாக இயந்திரங்கள் இருந்ததால், அவை பக்கத்து மாவட்டங்களுக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டன. இதனால், இயந்திரங்களை தயார் செய்தல் மற்றும் குலுக்கல் முறையில் ஒதுக்குதல் ஆகிய பணிகள் தாமதமாகின.
